Houston Institute for Culture produces traditional arts events, with emphasis on regional traditions. We periodically present traditional arts of international origins with the purpose of making the highest quality performances accessible to Houstonians. We present specific lines of programs, such as African American music traditions - Zydeco, Brass Band Music and Mardi Gras Indians. We present music and learning resources for Juneteenth. Our programs also feature Latino and Asian arts, where interpretation provides significant educational value for general audiences.
