Description Young Audiences of Houston is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing children's learning with creative resources from the arts community who believes that comprehensive arts programming is vital to the quality of our children's education. To help schools meet this need, Young Audiences provides a network of services, including in-school performances, classroom workshops, artist residencies and field trips to special events. Young Audiences, Inc., is the country's leading resource for student arts programs is the first arts-in-education organization ever awarded the National Medal of Arts.

The mission of Young Audiences of Houston is to educate children through the arts and to make the arts an integral part of the school curriculum. Highly participatory, curriculum-related arts programs reinforce classroom instruction, foster creative and critical thinking skills, awaken interest in learning, and broaden student understanding of world arts and cultures. Special emphasis is placed on multi-cultural programming and on serving children-at-risk and schools with high needs.
