Description
To provide cultural awareness to general public, and to keep traditions alive for Polynesian youth. Also to provide scholarships to members' children in order to encourage higher education.
Events and
Traditions
Our biggest fundraiser is the annual Luau which raises funds for scholarships. This year the Association's goal was to establish a building fund, and to raise even more funding for a building of our own.
Classes and
Workshops
Our most readily accessible resource for fundraising, is performances, (by the children) of Hula, and other forms of island dance. For example, we raised $200.00 from thier performance at this years' Dragon Boat Festival, sponsored by APAHA, (Asian Pacific American Heritage Association) among others.
