Description	The Foundation for Modern Music, a Contemporary Music Organization formed in 1986 to create recordings of Twentieth Century American Concert Music. At that time, as now, few performances, and almost no recordings were being made of contemporary concert music in Houston. The Foundation for Modern Music strives to positively change the general public's perception of modern music through dynamic projects of recording, competition, speakers events, educational workshops, performances, and radio programs. A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, with a board consisting of a diverse segment of the Houston community and an international committee of advisors, the Foundation works to ensure a secure future for vital concert music of our time.
